At Rescueline we have always taken privacy very seriously and we are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal information.
This policy is in line and compliant with the requirements of the Data Protection regulation 679/2016/EU, which came into effect as of the 25th of May 2018.
Personal information means details which identify you or could be used to identify you, such as your name and ID or contact details.
Appointment of a Data Protection Officer
The Company appointed a Data Protection Officer who oversees compliance with data protection law and acts as a point of contact for clients, associates and the Cyprus Data Protection Commissioner’s Office.

The type of Personal Information we process or collect
Personal Information you provide to us
This personal information is typically provided directly by you when you apply for, or receive a quotation for one of our products or services.
Information will also be collected in relation to any other additional members or beneficiaries of your product or service. Please ensure that any beneficiaries are made aware of this privacy notice and ensure you obtain their permission before providing their information.
• Membership details including your title, name, home address, email address and telephone contact details (including home and mobile telephone numbers)
• Date of birth, age, or age range
• Name and contact details relating to any additional members or beneficiaries, for example family members covered by car breakdown cover
• Financial information including bank details, payment card information
• Vehicle details make, model and vehicle registration number
• CV, driver’s license, ID, Social Insurance Number
It is important that any information you provide directly to us is accurate and correct, we recommend letting us know immediately if you need to change anything on your policy or your contact details. Providing false or inaccurate information in order to obtain a product or service may also result in services being restricted or cancelled.
Special types of personal information
We do not routinely require you to provide special types of personal information but there may be circumstances where you may provide this information to us, for example:
• Providing us with important health or wellbeing information when you request roadside assistance
• Information to allow us to provide extra help to those who are vulnerable
• Information disclosed when using our Accident Care or Telephone Legal Helpline services or Legal
Care Plus product.
This information will not be shared or used for any purpose other than to provide the product or service requested by you, and will only be processed where data protection laws allow us to do so.
Our legal basis for using your personal information
As a Road Assistance Company providing towing, accident care and call center services we have a legitimate business interest to use and collect your personal information necessary to offer an effective service and carry out our business.
How we collect your information
We collect personal information about you whenever you:
• contact us to request our products or services (whether services provided directly by us or agents acting on our behalf)
• when you sent an inquiry through our website
• when you use our call center
• when you are entering into an agreement with us
• when you apply for a job position within the Company
• when you interact with us via email
In addition, we may receive personal information about you from third parties, such as Insurance Companies contracted with us to provide you with our services.
Retention of your information
We will keep your information for as long as we need it for the purpose it is being collected, for as long as is necessary to provide the services or products you have requested, for our own legitimate interests and to meet our statutory obligations. For example, where you request road assistance services we will keep the information related to the incident so we can fulfil the specific service arrangements you have requested and after that, we will keep the information for a period which enables us to handle or respond to any complaints, queries or concerns relating to the insistent.
The information may also be retained so that we can continue to improve your experience with us and to ensure that you receive quality services.
Personal Information is retained for as long as necessary to meet legal, regulatory and business requirements. Retention periods may be extended if we are required to preserve your Personal Information in connection with litigation, investigations and proceedings.
If you cancel any of your services it will be necessary for us to retain your personal information for internal reporting and record keeping and in line with any legal or regulatory requirements. This period of retention is usually 12 years.
We will actively review the information we hold and delete it securely, or in some cases anonymise it, when there is no longer a legal, business or customer need for it to be retained. If you stop interacting with us as a customer, we will remove or anonymise your information after 7 years.

Upon submission of a written request by electronic mail to the appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO) at DPO@resculine.com.cy, you remain the rights to your personal information provided either by phone, in writing or by any other means:
request a review of your personal data and information which was obtained and stored during your engagement with us and check the accuracy of these information at any time.
request a rectification and change being made to your personal data and information, which was obtained in the course of providing you with our services or entering into a contractual agreement with us.
request information on the purpose for which your personal data that was obtained, is used.
request to have your personal data, which was obtained during the provision of services or entering into a contractual agreement, deleted partly or completely.

How we keep your information secure
In line with the requirements of the Data Protection Regulation 679/2016/EU we have developed and implemented all necessary process and procedures and we are applying a range of measures both technical and organizational to keep your information safe and secure from unauthorized loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Such measures may include encryption and other forms of security. We require our staff and any third parties who carry out any work on our behalf to comply with appropriate compliance standards including obligations to protect any information and applying appropriate measures for the use and transfer of information.
